The Incredible Story of How 7-Year-Old Nick Jonas Watched His Future Wife Become Miss World 2000

When Priyanka Chopra was getting crowned Miss World in 2000, her future husband Nick was 7-years-old. His mom Denise has a very vivid memory of her son that day, and it proves that the story between Priyank and Nick seems like it came straight out of a fairy tale.

Nick and his parents witnessed the big moment

On a recent episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, 40-year-old Priyanka recalled that her 30-year-old husband Nick had been watching her on television over two decades before they crossed paths.

The star admitted, ’’That’s a crazy story,’’ as she recounted her mother-in-law, Denise Miller-Jonas, sharing a surprising anecdote. She had revealed that her family watched Chopra Jonas win the Miss World pageant in 2000, which marked the beginning of her immensely triumphant acting career that transitioned from Bollywood to Hollywood.

Priyanka was still a teen

The actress said, ’’When I was 17, actually when I was 18, I had just turned 18, I won the Miss World pageant.’’

Chopra noted being a ’’complete child’’ when she received the prestigious title. She went on admitting, ’’I had no idea what I was doing or what this world entailed, I didn’t have a lot of practice.’’

Nick was a little boy

At the time of the pageant, however, Chopra was unaware that her future spouse was also watching her acceptance speech while he was in his family home in Texas.

Priyanka revealed that her mother-in-law told her, ’’I remember it so clearly because it was November, Nick was on some Broadway show at 7 years old, his brother was on some Broadway show at 8 or 9.’’ She added that Nick’s dad ’’loves watching pageants’’, and that ’’Nick came and sat down and watched’’ as Priyanka was crowned Miss World 2000.

Love can be written in the stars

When asked if she believed that her and Jonas’s relationship was meant to be by destiny, Chopra answered, ’’Maybe.’’

She noted, ’’I do believe that people are meant to be with each other for whatever that duration in your life is supposed to be.’’ The mother of one went on adding that she believes that people collide because they are supposed to create memories together.

From the way they met, to the obstacles they had to overcome and the beautiful life they are building together, Priyanka and Nick’s story melts our heart and makes us believe in true love.
